DCFI realizes the importance of community interaction in spreading the love of God. We believe that we are to be a “beacon of light” to those, whose world may seem a little dark.
“What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?
Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.
If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do” (James 2:14-18).
It’s easy to call ourselves Christians without proving it, but our actions will speak louder than words. Our testimony and our witness of the goodness and love of God are in what we do for others.
As one famous author wrote, “Your actions are so loud, I can’t hear what you are saying!”
Currently we are financially partnered with the following local non-profit and charity organizations:
- Compassionate Care
- Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma (formerly Tulsa Food Bank)
- John 3:16 Mission
- PFLAG of Tulsa
- Kendall Whittier Ministries
- Oklahomans for Equality
We also make donations of requested goods, such as canned food, blankets, school supplies, clothes, etc., to not only these organizations, but also to others who may call upon us.
Our small groups are currently planning ways to volunteer at these organizations.
Why is it important to do these things?
Jesus said, “By this will men know you are my disciples, the love you show one for another.”
